Safety & Support

Last updated: 20-12-2025

Mindset Neurodivergent is a calm, supportive space for autistic and neurodivergent children, teens, adults, families, and schools. This page explains how we keep the platform safe, what to do if something feels heavy, and where to get real-world support.

Child-safe by design Supportive language Help when it matters

1. Our Safety Promise

We design Mindset to be gentle, inclusive, and neurodivergent-affirming. We aim to reduce overwhelm, avoid shame-based messaging, and support emotional regulation and communication in a respectful way.

  • No public profiles
  • No open messaging between users
  • No third-party advertising
  • Tools are designed with calm visuals and predictable navigation

2. What Mindset Can & Cannot Do

Mindset is a support toolkit — not an emergency service.

We can help with: coping tools, calming activities, reflection prompts, communication supports, and practical routines.
We cannot: provide crisis care, replace therapy, diagnose conditions, or intervene in emergencies. If someone is in danger or at immediate risk, call emergency services right away.

3. If You See or Feel Something Concerning

If you’re a child or teen and something feels scary, unsafe, or too heavy, you deserve support from a safe adult.

  • If you feel in immediate danger, call your local emergency number (in Ireland/Europe: 112 or 999).
  • If you can, tell a trusted adult: a parent, caregiver, teacher, school counsellor, or family member.
  • If you’re not sure what to say, you can start with: “I need help. I don’t feel safe.”
Parents & caregivers: If you are worried about a child’s safety, trust your instincts and seek professional support quickly.

4. Topics We Treat with Extra Care

Some topics need gentle handling and real-world support. If our tools detect messages about:

  • Self-harm or suicidal thoughts
  • Hopelessness or feeling “done”
  • Bullying or harassment
  • Abuse at home or feeling unsafe

…we aim to respond with a supportive message and encourage reaching out to trusted help.

5. Online Safety (Simple Rules)

  • Do not share private information (address, school, phone number, passwords)
  • Be kind — no bullying, threats, or mean messages
  • If something feels wrong, stop and tell a safe adult
Reminder: You never have to keep a scary secret.

6. Support Resources (Ireland)

If you are in Ireland, these services can help. If you are outside Ireland, search for your country’s crisis line or emergency service.

Emergency: If someone is in immediate danger, call 112 or 999.
  • Samaritans (24/7): Call 116 123 (free) — if you feel overwhelmed or unsafe
  • Pieta: Support for self-harm and suicidal distress (Ireland)
  • Jigsaw: Mental health support for young people (Ireland)
  • Childline: Support for children and teens (Ireland)

Tip: You can add the exact phone numbers, links, and up-to-date service details you prefer here.

9. A Gentle Note for Kids & Teens

If you are feeling really sad, scared, or overwhelmed: you are not alone — and you are not “too much.” You deserve support.

If you can, tell a trusted adult. If you need urgent help, call 112 or 999.
